Hauula
Hau’ula in Hawaiian translates to “red tree.” Hau is a species of hibiscus tree found typically along the coastlines. The beachside communities of Punalu’u, Hau’ula and La’ie are all within a short distance of each other, and unless you are paying attention, you can easily miss Hauula.
Hau’ula is a small beachside community where residential and commercial land in this area is limited.
This area is less populated, as it is sandwiched between the ocean and mountains within the Hauula Forest Reserve.
